25 motif challenge....

I was asked by a friend to complete the 25 motif challenge with her this year. I have not really felt I had the time to try this before. But as this is a new year and I am up for a bit of a challenge and a bit of fun tatting this year I guess it fits right in there!!

MOTIF 1

So here is my first:

Patchwork. Designed by Mary Konior. Found in the book: Tatting With Visual Patterns. Thread is Manuela 204, size 20.

  4. Liyarra, your work is absolutely gorgeous! I've seen Mary Konior's Masquerade done twice this year and it's so pretty. I think I'll have to make it for one of my 25 Motif Challenge pieces.

  5. Lovely colours! It is a pity that this brand has been discontinued.

  7. Your masquerade motif is so pretty in that variegated thread. But I couldn't help but notice that this first entry is a bit small, compared to the work you showcase on your Picasa image gallery on your blog.

I'm quite excited to see what motifs you choose for future projects. Great start and keep up the wonderful work!

  9. Yes it is a pity - I still have 2 of the 3 I bought stashed away. LOL
Just waiting for the "right" project.

  11. Hey, Liyarra! I follow your stuff on InTatters and didn't know you had the blog! Great!

Isn't Mary Konior the best! This is a lovely design and the thread is wonderful. I have never tried it and I suppose I never will now that is is discoed.

The Library inclusion at the bottom of the blog is good.... too good.... LOL!

  13. Welcome Aboard - all the way from Australia! Are you having summer right now? Can I come visit? LOL !

What a great start to your blog! Viewing your slideslow is like looking into a kaleidoscope! It's interesting that clicking on your photos leads to the captions on a Picasa album. It will take awhile for me to click through them!

I can't believe the amount of tatting you've done in only 6 years, with many large pieces!

I'm interested in your tatting history and how this all got started for you. I would have to agree that you're definitely addicted!

Marilee's "Arches" doily is spectacular in the Carribbean and turquoise thread combo! Just beautiful!

I believe the motif from Mary Konior is called "Patchwork". I've only done it in white thread, but it looks beautiful in this thread.

I'll be looking forward to seeing even more of your beautiful tatting.
